Do you love skiing and snowboarding? Have you ever wanted the chance to ski/snowboard with Olympic athletes? If you said yes, (let’s face it, who wouldn’t?) then be sure to come and join Olympic Skier Brad Spence at scenic Panorama Village for the Peak to Valley Challenge! Being held on April 5, 2014 and organized by Brad himself, this event is an exciting one-day, downhill race in which competitors and their supporters are invited to participate and help make sense of neurological nonsense.

We had the chance to speak to Brad about why participating in what’s sure to be an epic day with your friends and family; will be way more fun than “liking” the pictures of others having an epic day!

“The Peak to Valley challenge will combine the leg-burning fun of skiing one of North America’s longest vertical runs with the memorable times that all Branch Out events guarantee,” stated Spence.

Spence is a two-time Olympian skierwho has had the chance to ski all over the world, and he claims Panorama in April is one of his favourite places to do so!

The Peak to Valley Challenge is certainly not for the weak. The race includes tackling a 180 giant slalom gate course from the top of the mountain to the bottom, but Spence guarantees that the feeling of crossing the finish line will be well worth the pain!

“It will be a great mix of people that are all there to have a great time and help support an awesome cause,” said Spence.

Whether it be racing, volunteering, or coming out to cheer on your friends, there will be a spot for you! You are welcome to register individually or as a team!

It doesn’t matter if you ski or snowboard, as long as you enjoy having a good time out on the mountain! To keep participants happy and healthy, all event competitors should be at a moderate or greater level of skill in downhill ski-plowing activities. In addition to being a moderately awesome to super awesome skier/snowboarder, all participants should also be above the age of 14.

Don’t meet these qualifications and still want to get involved?? Fret not! There will be lots of great family friendly activities happening at the Peak to Valley Challenge! Including a post-event banquet, a silent auction and lots of awards and prizes to be won! Bring the whole family down, cheer on the competitors and help make sense of neurological nonsense!
