FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

History could be made on Canadian soil: A Guinness World Record Attempt for longest distance travelled on a unicycle.

Vancouver, BC, September 18, 2017:  On September 23, 2017, local Vancouverite attempts to break the World Guinness Record Attempt for longest distance travelled on a unicycle while juggling.

Vancouver performer, Vincenzo Vipond, has been training for this moment for years.  “The current record sits at 6.4km and hasn’t been broken since 2015.  I'm planning on doubling that record,” says Vipond.  In an effort to raise awareness at his public performance, Vipond partnered with the Branch Out Neurological Foundation, a Canadian charity that raises money for brain disease research.  “I’ve seen how neurological disorders impact not only the sufferer, but those around them.  I wanted to find a way to help prevent it happening to others.”  Together, they will host the Branch Out Sideshow and Vipond hopes to raise $50,000 through his one-wheeled efforts.

“Sideshow and the Guinness World Record Attempt have a natural connection with Branch Out’s work because it’s about the complex connection between brain and body,” explains Crystal Phillips, Executive Director and Co-Founder of Branch Out.  “It’s that connection – or disconnection – that is the foundation of so many neurological disorders, and why Branch Out directs our resources towards research.”

In addition to the Guinness World Record attempt, the Branch Out Sideshow showcases circus performances, spinning, tumbling, food, and fun activities for kids and adults alike.  Branch Out would like to invite families across the city to this free event and appreciates all donations made on behalf of Vipond.
