Description: It’s possible that when people have a seizure, their brain is actually slightly starved for oxygen right after the seizure stops. While the Ketogenic Diet (low carbs & sugar, high protein & fat) has previously been shown to be effective for treating seizures, its not quite known why. This study is testing if part of the Ketogenic Diet’s therapeutic effect is by protecting from those low oxygen levels. If so, this could lead to the Ketogenic Diet being a possible treatment for a wider array of neurological conditions.
